FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - Before taking part in its final South Atlantic Conference regular-season matchup of the 2015 spring season on Wednesday, Anderson University women's tennis cruised to a 9-0 blanking of Division II newcomer Emmanuel Tuesday afternoon in Franklin Springs, Ga.

The Trojans shutout the Lions in every match played on the day, as they improved to 12-5 on the season, while EC continues to search for its first win, dropping to 0-15.

The doubles team of Ivey Welborn and Rebecca Bruning (No. 1 doubles) joined teammates Mairead Cleary and Alexandra Ebner (No. 2 doubles) with identical 8-0 wins in the round, as AU claimed a 3-0 lead following a default at the No. 3 position.

In the singles round, all four Trojans notched matching 6-0, 6-0 victories, as Cleary captured her first triumph while playing at the No. 1 position over Emmanuel's Madalena Frausto. At No. 2, senior Lindsay Gregory blanked Abby Bradford, while Nikkola Wichenko shutout Alyssa Austin at the No. 3 position. Rounding out the action on the court, Abigail Gregory cruised to a victory over Sarah Wisneski at the No. 4 slot.

Anderson's Carolina Monteiro and Kayla Bishop were awarded wins at the No. 5 and No. 6 spots, respectively, as EC failed to place players in those positions.

The Trojans look to close out their SAC schedule on a high note when they welcome conference rival Lenoir-Rhyne on Wednesday. First serve from Memorial Courts is slated for 3 p.m.
