Trojans Top Eagles, 17-10

ANDERSON, S.C. -- Anderson's men's lacrosse team hosted Embry-Riddle on Saturday, picking up their first home win of the season with a 17-10 victory over the Eagles.  

"Great team win today," said head coach Albert Mitchell, "and much better execution in the second hald especially." 

The first quarter ended level at 2, before the Trojans took the lead to wrap up the first half up 7-6. The third quarter saw four goals from the Trojans to put AU ahead 11-8 going into the fourth. Anderson opened the final sect of the game with five back-to-back goals, adding to the lead and securing a Trojan victory. 

Tristan Kirkham (Langley, BC) led the way for AU with six goals, followed by Ryan Bitterman (Alpharetta, Ga.), Radyn Badraun (Mission Viejo, Calif.) and Brayden Bushnoe (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) each recording two goals on the afternoon.  

AJ Rush (Chantilly, Va.), Aiden Dixon (Forest Hill, Md.) and Breton Crewe (Evans, Ga.) combined to win 24 of 30 faceoffs, while Joey Heckel (Easton, Penn.) tallied 12 saves. 

"Our face off play was excellent and our shooting and on-ball defense drastically improved in the second half," said Mitchell. 

The Trojans are on the road next Saturday (Feb. 24) for a game against Rollins at 1:00 PM.
