PEMBROKE, N.C.– Anderson University softball (6-10) split its doubleheader contest with UNC Pembroke (7-3) dropping game one, 7-1, while winning the nightcap, 6-0, on Monday afternoon at UNCP Softball Field.

"Records are made to be broken," stated head coach Tommy Hewitt. "Augie held the record for 7 years and now it's Lakens time. I'm so excited for Laken to be the new AU Pitcher All-Ttime Strikeout record holder and proud to be part of it."

Game One

  • UNC Pembroke held the Trojans to just three hits for the game.
  • The Braves scored a single run in the second and third innings, while driving in three runs in the fifth. To distance themselves even further, they added another lone run in the sixth inning.
  • Anderson used a walk, hit-by-pitch and an error to produce a run in the fourth inning.
  • Sophomore Carson-Hobbs (0-2) pitched five innings, giving up seven hits and five runs before being lifted in favor of freshman Katie Morris. Morris pitched one inning, giving up one hit and one run.
