Five Trojans Reach Double-Figures In Road Win At Lincoln Memorial; 85-75

HARROGATE, TENN. – All five Trojan starters reached double-figure scoring with guard Zamiya Passmore coming just one rebound and one assist shy of a triple-double. Anderson (15-3, 7-3 SAC) won its fourth straight South Atlantic Conference game with the win over Lincoln Memorial (12-5, 7-4 SAC), 85-75, on Saturday afternoon at "Tex" Turner Arena.

"I'm so proud of this team and their growth over the last three weeks," boasted head coach Jonathon Barbaree. "They battled today for 40 mins and grabbed a huge road win vs a great scoring team."

"Zee was fantastic today in sharing the ball, while also grabbing so many timely rebounds," stated Barbaree. "I also thought Tex hit some huge shots, especially the three-pointer late in the game. Diamond and Nelly played great post defense and both scored big in the paint. We also got great minutes from Peytyn and Martyna early when we had some matchup issues and foul trouble."

"We'll enjoy this one and get ready to host the next two at the house," added Barbaree.

Anderson shot a season high 65% from the field with the game percentage hovering at 70% for the majority of the contest. Lincoln Memorial was about to hang close using 16 Trojan miscues and turning them into 18 points.

Pushing the pace for most of the first half, the Trojans won the opening quarter 25-20 with the Railsplitters winning the second period, 22-18.

Anderson led by as many as nine points in the third quarter of action, enjoying its largest lead of 15 on a made jumper by Diamond McDowell with 7:50 remaining in the game.

LMU could only pull within six with 2:32 remaining with Anderson making 5-of-6 foul shots down the stretch to secure the 10-point road victory.

McDowell scored a team-high 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds. The native of Asheboro, N.C., also dished out five assists and was credited with two blocked shots. Passmore netted 20 points, chased down nine rebounds and dished out nine assists. Graduate Brittney Stafford chipped in 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting, including 2-of-3 from behind the three-point line. Senior Nelliah Wilson dropped in 14 points while ripping down eight rebounds. Sophomore Ashlyn Sheridan added 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting.

Lincoln Memorial's Lauren Flowers led all-scorers with 23 points. Alexa Smiddy and Jordan Maney also reached double-figures for LMU, scoring 14 and 11 points, respectively.

Anderson returns home on Wednesday to welcome SAC opponent Newberry. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 pm.
