Booming Second Half Lifts Trojans Over Cobras, 12-5

HARTSVILLE, S.C. -- An eleven-goal second half boosted Anderson's men's lacrosse team to a 12-5 victory over Coker on Saturday afternoon.

"Very proud of our team's fight, especially in the second half," said head coach Albert Mitchell. "We played fast together on offense, and we executed the game plan to perfection on the defensive end of the field."

The Trojans opened the scoring with Radyn Badraun (Mission Viejo, Calif.) finding the back of the net in the first two minutes of play. The Cobras bounced back, netting two against the Black and Gold to round out the first quarter. A scoreless second 15 saw Coker take the 2-1 lead into halftime.

Anderson's offense roared to life in the second half, notching six Q3 goals to Coker's two and five fourth-quarter goals to Coker's one. Tristan Kirkham (Langley, B.C.) recorded a hat trick on the afternoon, followed by Nick Calabrese (Auburn, Ga.), Logan Gaddis (Norcross, Ga.), Brayden Bushnoe (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) and Badraun who each tallied braces. Ryan Gundersen (Waxhaw, N.C.) also scored for AU, picking up his fourth goal of the season.

Anderson completed 24 of 25 clears successfully, forced 21 Coker turnovers and totaled 51 shots.

The Trojans remain on the road to face No. 1 Limestone on Wednesday at 7:00 PM.
