No. 1 Saints Outlast Trojans, 19-12

GAFFNEY, S.C. -- After outscoring the Saints 5-3 in the first fifteen minutes of play, the Trojans were ultimately unable to withstand the undefeated offense of No. 1 Limestone, falling in Wednesday's contest 19-12.

"We fought hard but were not able to execute in the middle portion of the game," said head coach Albert Mitchell. "I'm confident we can build off this one."

The Trojans started hot, with PJ Fenchak (Lutherville Timonium, Md.), Radyn Badraun (Mission Viejo, Calif.), Nick Calabrese (Auburn, Ga.), Tristan Kirkham (Langley, BC) and Matthew Rodgers (Carmel, Ind.) each netting goals for the Black and Gold in the first quarter.

The Saints answered in the second quarter, outscoring AU 8-1 and taking an 11-6 lead into halftime. Q3 saw Brayden Bushnoe (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) find the back of the net, followed by Fenchak scoring his second of the night.

Anderson recorded four unanswered goals in the fourth quarter—three coming from Kirkham and a fourth from Aiden Dixon (Forest Hills, Md.)--but the comeback fell short, and No. 1 Limestone claimed the 19-12 victory.

AU looks to bounce back Saturday (March 30) against Catawba on the road at noon.
