ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- Anderson's men's golf team wrapped up the LMU Spring Kick-Off in Florida this afternoon, carding a 292-307-318 finish to place 16th in the field.
"We didn't have our best stuff this week," said head coach Austin Castles. "We'll take all the positives away that we can and prepare for our next event in a few weeks."
Junior Simon Wright (Lancaster, S.C.) had the best outing for the Trojans, shooting 75-72-76 to total 223(+7) on the tournament. Freshman Sam McMillan (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) followed closely behind with 71-79-76. Fifth-year Jamie Markwick (Bishop's Waltham, Eng.) closed out recording 73-76-83, followed by senior Daniel Coker (Hartsville, S.C.) with 73-83-84 and freshman Luke Sullivan (Columbia, S.C.) with 80-80-83.
"I was very pleased with how Simon Wright played and fought this week. He was a bright spot for sure," said Castles. "Sam McMillan showed signs of some good stuff as well throughout the week. We are just going to regroup and get back to work."
The Trojans look ahead to the Bulldog Spring Bash (Feb. 25-26) hosted at the Caledonia Golf & Fish Club in Pawley's Island, S.C.
