Track Records Eleven Personal Bests in Columbia

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Anderson's men and women's track teams wrapped up the final indoor competition of the regular season on Saturday at the USC Indoor Open. The Trojans will travel to Winston-Salem, N.C. next weekend (Feb. 24-25) for the South Atlantic Conference Indoor Championships.

"We had a great tune up meet as we prepare for the SAC Championships next weekend," said head coach Kevin Eagle. "A lot of athletes are hitting their stride at the right time of the year, which is exactly what we aim to do each season."

Thirty student-athletes represented the Trojans in Columbia, picking up eleven personal-bests and four program records. Sophomore Elliot Dotson (Greenville, S.C.) broke his own Anderon record, running a personal-best and 4th-place finish 4:04.76 mile. Freshman Rylie Jenkins (Loranger, La.) also broke the program record with a personal best 3.56-meter pole vault mark.

"We have to be at the top of our game next week, and I feel like we are in a perfect spot to do just that," said Eagle.

Both Trojan 4X400 squads notched AU records, with the women's team (Lacey Boozer, Brianna Quartararo, Ally Macurda, Emma Whitaker) finishing fifth with a 3:54.54, while the men (Darrion Perry, Ian Macurda, Farris, Ben Molitor) snagged a 4th-place finish, running 3:24.76.

Maggie Long (Mt. Pleasant, S.C.) tallied two personal records on the weekend with a 5.03-meter long jump and 10.84-meter triple jump. Cate Murawski (Mount Prospect, Ill.) recorded a 4.75-meter long jump personal best, while Sarah Wimpee (Summerville, S.C.) broke her personal record with a 13.54-meter weight throw.

Six Trojans marked personal records in their respective events on the men's side:

Daniel Similton (Indian Trail, N.C.) - 4:10.71 mile

Noah Stump (Easely, S.C.) - 4:26.63 mile
