ANDERSON, S.C. - The Anderson University women's tennis team was defeated by Tusculum Saturday afternoon at the AU Tennis Complex.

With the loss, the Trojans fall to 10-9 overall and 5-5 in the SAC, while the Pioneers improve to 13-1 and 4-1 in conference play.

In the doubles round, No. 1 seeded Rebecca Bruning and Ivey Welborn defeated Franziska Funke and Amanda Sumner, 8-6 to earn the Black and Gold's lone point on the day. No. 9 Bruning and Welborn improve their doubles record to 14-5 on the year.

The Trojans were unable to pick up any wins during the singles portion losing in straight sets in all but two matches.

Anderson continues play at home when it welcomes rival Erskine in nonconference action on Wednesday. First serve is set for 3:30 p.m. at the AU Tennis Complex.
