COLUMBUS, GA. - Junior Rebecca Bruning grabbed a singles win at the No. 2 position earning the lone point for Anderson University women's tennis, as the Trojans fell to Peach Belt powerhouse No. 8 Columbus State on Saturday at the Newman Tennis Center.

The loss drops Anderson to 8-6 overall, while the Cougars improve to 11-3 on the year.

Bruning, a native of Athens, Ga. defeated the No. 50 singles player in the country, Kirsa Utech, 1-6, 6-0, 10-0 to earn her 11th singles victory of the season.

Anderson returns to the courts on Saturday when it travels to South Atlantic Conference opponent Lenoir-Rhyne. First serve from Hickory High School is set for 1 p.m.
