ANDERSON, S.C. - Anderson University women's tennis quickly defeated nonconference opponent Converse from the Conference Carolinas, 9-0 Monday afternoon at the AU Tennis Complex.

Anderson moves to 7-4 overall snapping a three match losing streak while the Valkeries fall to 3-6 overall.

The Trojans did not drop a set on their way to blanking Converse for the fourth straight year.

Sophomore Ivey Welborn and Junior Rebecca Bruning added to their win total improving to 9-2 on the season, with an 8-2 victory over Alex Schlesener and Samantha Sheffield at the No. 1 spot. Freshman Jennifer Holcombe and senior Alexandra Ebner earned an 8-0 win over Taylor L. Barr at No. 2. Sophomore Abigail Gregory teamed up with senior Nikkola Wichenko for an 8-4 win over Margaret Pridmore and Caroline Bertling at No. 3.

In the singles portion, Anderson dominated play only losing six points in six straight set victories. Bruning (8-2) recorded her eighth singles win on the season while Holcombe and Ebner recorded their seventh singles victory of the year.

Anderson has a quick turn around heading to Augusta to face off in a nonconference match on Tuesday. First serve is set for 11 a.m.
