SKILLMAN, N.J. - After posting victories over the No.24 and No. 50
singles players in the nation, Anderson University's women' tennis
player Rebecca Bruning (13-2) has earned her way into the top 50
Oracle/ITA Division II Women's National Singles Ranking, claiming
the No. 45 spot.
Bruning has won eight straight singles matches improving her overall record to 13-2 on the year with her last loss occurring in late February to Melissa Laing of South Atlantic powerhouse No. 42 Queens.
In addition to the national rankings, Bruning moved into the No.
10 spot in the Southeast Region poll in singles play while the
doubles team of Bruning and Ivey Welborn landed in the No. 9 slot.
The Trojan tandem is currently 11-5 overall and 5-2 in conference
play.
Bruning and Welborn closed the 2015 campaign with a 13-5 overall
record, headlined by a 7-3 mark in the SAC while playing all 18
matches at the No. 1 position. For their efforts, the pair earned
SAC First Team Doubles honors after being named to the Preseason
All-SAC Second Team Doubles list before the start of the year.

Rankings
As the governing body of college tennis, the ITA administers the
Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings that are designed to track
the top men's and women's teams, along with singles and doubles
players in NCAA Divisions I, II, III, NAIA, Junior Colleges and
California Junior Colleges.
The Trojans return to action when they welcome SAC member Carson-Newman on Friday. First serve is set for 2 p.m. at the AU Tennis Complex.
