Mollenhauer Earns WBCA and D2CCA All-America First Team Honors

Anderson, S.C. - Anderson University women's basketball senior Alexy Mollenhauer was named to both the 2020 Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-America Women's Basketball First Team and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), as announced by the associations on Monday.

"We cannot say enough about how proud we are of Lexy and all that she has accomplished for this program", said head coach Jonathon Barbaree. "We are so excited to see that she is being recognized with these two great awards for the second year in a row!"

Mollenhauer, the only repeat member of the D2CCA First Team, led the Trojans to a 26-5 overall record and 19-3 South Atlantic Conference slate winning the SAC regular season title for the second year in a row.

The native of Lindale, Texas was a five-time SAC AstroTurf Player of the Week, while also earning USBWA DII National Player of the Week Honors. Mollenhauer garnered multiple post-season honors including NCAA Southeast Region Player of the Year, SAC Player of the Year, SAC First Team, SAC All-Tournament, CoSIDA Academic All-District and CoSIDA Academic All-America.

Mollenhauer started in all 31 games and averaged 36.0 minutes, 19.7 points, 12.4 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game to go along with 51 blocks and 33 steals. The six-foot guard produced 20 double-doubles, while scoring 20-plus points on 16 occasions. She pulled down an impressive eight-plus rebounds per contest in 30-of-31 games played. Mollenhauer became the first Anderson player to reach at least 1000-points (1,949) and 1000-rebounds (1, 017) and the third player in the SAC record books to accomplish the feat.

"Lexy worked extremely hard and put in numerous hours along the way", added Barbaree. "Her growth as a player is a true testament to trusting the process and being committed the team."
