Trojans Road Win at Lenoir-Rhyne Is Highlighted by Senior Madison Baggett’s Triple Double

Hickory, N.C. – No. 19 Anderson University women's basketball enjoyed a 20-point road South Atlantic Conference win at Lenoir-Rhyne, 74-54, which was highlighted by senior Madison Baggett's triple double (19 pts, 10 rbs, 10 ast) on Saturday afternoon at Shuford Gymnasium.

With the win, Anderson wins its fifth straight game to improve to 19-3 overall and 14-2 in SAC play, while the Bears falls to 9-13 and 7-9 overall in conference action.

Anderson's Baggett led all-scorers with a game-high 19 points on her way to her second career triple-double. The senior guard added 10 rebounds and 10 assists while also recording three steals and a block to her impressive stat line. The native of Huntsville, Ala. became the 15th Anderson women's basketball player to reach the1000-point milestone. Senior Alexy Mollehauer netted 18 points while ripping down a game-high 18 rebounds. Junior Taylor Hair reached double figures for the third straight game, chipping in 14 points and five rebounds.

Lenoir-Rhyne guard Kennedy Weigt scored a team-high 15 points while Ashley Woodroffe chipped in 10 points for the Bears.

Anderson led 50-25 at halftime, building it largest lead of 36 heading into the fourth period of action. The Black and Gold only scored four points in the final 10:05 with the Bears outscoring AU 20-4 in the final stanza.

The Trojans held Lenoir-Rhyne to 19-of-67 (28.4 %) from the floor for the game while recording nine blocked shot and seven steals.

"I loved the way we started the game and pushed for three quarters", said head coach Jonathon Barbaree. "We were extremely excited for Madison to reach her 1000 points and to do with a triple double was special. We will continue to work this week and get ready for the next one."

Anderson remains on the road when it travels to SAC foe Wingate on Wednesday. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m.
