Anderson Raises Highest Total for the Play4Kay Initiative

Rock Hill, S.C.  – Anderson University was recognized as the South Atlantic Conference Play4Kay Conference winner, announced by the league office on Saturday afternoon.

Play4Kay is the Fund's largest fundraiser and events are hosted in all 50 states. Because of the nationwide support of participating Play4Kay teams, fans, and communities, the Kay Yow Cancer Fund has awarded $7.53 million in the fight against ALL cancers affecting women.

"Play4Kay was Coach Kay Yow's vision. She saw this initiative as a way to unite the country in support of all women battling cancer. She wanted to use her platform to give strength to others--to lift up and encourage survivors. Due to the amazing support of teams from communities big and small, the Kay Yow Cancer Fund has been able to award $7.53 million on behalf of women's basketball in the fight against all women's cancers," said Stephanie Glance, CEO of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.

For the third time in eight years and second straight year Anderson raised the highest amount among the South Atlantic Conference schools with a total of $7,500.00, which marks the largest amount raised in the 11 years of the SAC Play4Kay events. Anderson University was recognized for their efforts at the 2020 SAC Basketball Tournament in Greenville, SC on Saturday March 7th.
