No. 20 Anderson Enjoys Second Largest Scoring Output of Season to Down Queens; 90-51

Anderson, S.C. – No. 20 Anderson University women's basketball team exploded for its second highest point total, defeating South Atlantic Conference opponent Queens, 90-51, on Wednesday at the Abney Athletic Center.

With the triumph, Anderson moves to 16-3 overall and 11-2 in SAC play, while the Royals slide to 4-15 overall and 3-10-8 in conference action.

Senior Alexy Mollenhauer recorded her 11th double-double of the season equaling a career best 30 points and grabbing a team-high 10 rebounds. Mollenhauer drained a career high seven three-point shots. Freshman Jalyn Spurlin came off the bench to score 12 points, equaling her career best, on 6-of-7 shooting. Senior Madison Baggett's complete game was just shy of a double-double. Baggett netted eight points while dishing out 10 assists with the hard-nosed point guard chasing down six rebounds and being credited with three steals. Junior Alexis Tate provided quality minutes, chipping in eight points and recording three rebounds for the Trojans.

Queen's lone double-digit scorer was Kristian Eanes with 17 points. Over half her points came from the free-throw line where she went 9-for-11.

Anderson blew open the lead in the third period, outscoring the Royals, 29-10, after leading, 36-24, at halftime.

The Trojans built their largest lead of the game (44 points) on a made lay-up by freshman J'Mya Cutter with 6:12 to play, 82-38.

The Black and Gold played solid defense throughout the contest, narrowly holding the Royals to under 50 points for the game. Queens only made 15-52 shots from the field (28.8%).

"I thought we played a solid game for four quarters tonight, said head coach Jonathon Barbaree. "We moved the ball well on offense and made some solid decisions. Now's the time to keep pushing and continue to get better each day."

Anderson will travel to SAC opponent Carson-Newman on Saturday. Tip-off is slated for 2 pm at Holt Fieldhouse.
