Women’s Basketball Falls at No. 13 North Carolina State

Raleigh, N.C. - Senior Alexy Mollenhauer reached double figures, as the Anderson women's basketball team fell, 76-47, to No. 13 North Carolina State in an exhibition game Thursday night at Reynolds Coliseum.

Mollenhauer tallied 16 points on the night, while grabbing six rebounds. The 6-0 foot guard connected on four-of-eight from beyond the arc, while senior Madison Baggett drained a pair of long range buckets along with a chip shot to score eight points. Baggett was also credited with five assists on the evening. Junior Taylor Hair shared team-high honors with six rebounds, while senior Amari Grevious chipped in four points and pulled down five rebounds. Freshman J'Mya Cutter was credited with four defensive rebounds and two points in her debut with the Black and Gold.

The Trojans scored just 17 points heading into halftime, but settled in to find a little rhythm in the final two quarters.

" I was really proud of our girls and their effort," said head coach Jonathon Barbaree. "I thought we did a much better job settling in offensively in the second half compared to the first. But all in all it was a great experience vs a top 25 program and it gives us a lot film that we can watch, learn and build on."

Anderson begins its regular season on Nov. 8th when it host the Conference Challenge. The Trojans are slated to play Georgia College (Nov. 8th) at 3:30 pm and Clayton State (Nov. 9th) with a scheduled 1:30 pm tip-off.
