Trojans Earn No. 3 Seed for the 2020 DII NCAA Women’s Southeast Regional

ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University women's basketball was slated as the No. 3 seed for the 2020 Division II Women's Southeast Regional, the NCAA announced Sunday night.

Anderson (26-5) will be making their sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and their 14th overall appearance (2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2013, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004) and is the South Atlantic Conference regular season champion and tournament runner-up. 

The Trojans will be joined by host and No. 1 seed Lander (PBC), No. 2 North Georgia (PBC), No. 4 Tusculum (SAC), No. 5 Belmont Abbey (CC), No. 6 Carson-Newman (SAC), No. 7 Clayton State (PBC), and No. 8 Limestone (CC).

The Bearcats, who have won 22 of their last 24 games, will be face No. 8 Limestone (23-8) in the opening round on Friday. The winner will meet either No. 4 Tusculum (24-7) or No. 5 Belmont Abbey (27-3) in the semifinals on Saturday. On the other side of the bracket, No. 2 North Georgia (26-5) meets No. 7 Clayton State (20-10), while No. 3 Anderson (26-5) faces No. 6 Carson-Newman (22-8). 

The winner of the regional championship game next Monday advances to the Elite Eight Mar. 24-27 in Birmingham, Ala
