Men’s Golf Finishes 12th at Camden Collegiate

CAMDEN, S.C. – Paced by junior Reece Coleman's three-round, 5-over-par 215, the Anderson University men's golf team finished in 12th place, Tuesday at the Camden Collegiate.

Limestone hosted the two-day, 54-hole tournament on a 6,455 yard, par-70 Camden Country Club layout.

"Obviously, we were extremely disappointed with our final round today," said Anderson Director of Golf Danny Neal. "After gaining some momentum during a strong second round - shooting 282 - and rising to seventh in a strong field, we just gave it all back in the third round. There were bright spots as we made many birdies, but they were offset by inconsistent play resulting in too many bogeys and doubles. We hope to have a great week of practice and figure some things out before going to Mimosa Hills."

Lincoln Memorial led the three-round event wire-to-wire and finished eight shots in front of second-place Belmont Abbey. USC Aiken claimed third place, with Erskine dropping to fourth. North Georgia, Limestone and Barton finished fifth, sixth and seventh, respectively, while Lander finished in the eighth slot.

Coker, Flagler, Queens, Anderson, Lenoir-Rhyne, Young Harris, Southern Wesleyan and Spartanburg Methodist rounded out the 16-team field.

USC Aiken's Leo Johansson, Limestone's Levi Moody and LMU's Luke Harris each fired three-round 207s and finished in a tie atop the individual leaderboard, with Moody eventually taking home the title on the third playoff hole. Lander's Hugo Lari and Erskine's Alberto Dominguez finished in a tie for fourth – one stroke further back.

Coleman sandwiched a 2-over-par 72 and a third-round 76 around a 67, as the Port Elizabeth, South Africa, native claimed a share of 21st place. Freshman Simon Wright finished in a tie for 39th place following a 9-over 219 in his collegiate debut. Sophomore Calahan Keever posted a 221 and earned a share of 49th place, with junior Caleb Henson carding a 224 and taking home a share of 58th place. Fellow junior Anthony finished in a tie for 69th place following a three-round 228.

Following a two-week break, the Trojans will get back in action at the Donald Ross Intercollegiate in Morganton, N.C.
