Men’s Golf Readies for Season Opener at Camden Intercollegiate

ANDERSON, S.C. – After having its original season-opening tournament at North Georgia rained out two weeks ago, the Anderson University men's golf team is finally ready to get its fall slate underway by competing at the Camden Intercollegiate, which will be hosted by Limestone at the Camden Country Club, Monday and Tuesday in Camden, S.C.

The 54-hole tournament (Par 70 - 6455 Yards) is scheduled for 36 holes on Monday, followed by a final round of 18 on Tuesday.

This week will mark the Trojans' first appearance at the event.

The Trojans are coming off a season that saw the team win the Matt Dyas Invitational (West Georgia) and claim four other top-10 finishes, with Reece Coleman and teammate Calahan Keever each garnering Second-Team All-South Atlantic Conference recognition last spring. Keever also captured 2021 SAC Freshman of the Year accolades.

In addition to Coleman, Caleb Henson, Anthony Sutton and Keever, the Trojan roster also features returning letterwinners Daniel Coker and Parker MacDonald, alongside newcomer Simon Wright.

Coleman equaled a school record with his first-round 64 at the Spring Kick-off Intercollegiate last February and also carded a 66 in the first round of the Tennessee River Rumble. He had three top-10 finishes last season, including a third-place finish at the Full Moon Invitational. Keever paced the Trojans in their final four tournaments last year, while recording three top-15 finishes and six top-25 finishes.

Sutton won the Matt Dyas Invitational eleven months ago and carded a season-best 68 in the first round of the 2021 Tennessee River Rumble. He also fired a second-round 69 at the Matt Dyas Invitational. Coker notched a pair of top-25 finishes last season, including a season-best 12th –place finish at the Matt Dyas Invitational. MacDonald carded a 76 in the opening round of the Spring Kick-Off Intercollegiate, with Henson posting a season-best 77 in the second round of Lander's Bearcat Classic.
