Coleman Earn Men’s Golf All-Conference Honors

ROCK HILL, S.C. – With the 2022 South Atlantic Conference Men's Golf Championship slated to begin on Sunday, Anderson junior standout Reece Coleman has earned Second-Team All-South Atlantic Conference honors, as announced by the league office, Friday morning.

Coleman, a native of Port Elizabeth, South Africa, garnered all-conference recognition for the third straight season after also being recognized as a second-team selection a year ago and being named SAC Freshman of the Year in 2020. He is currently ranked 72nd in the nation by Golfstat after posting a team-best 71.95 unadjusted stroke average through seven tournaments this year. His low round of the season (66) in the third round of Barton's Bulldog Clash equaled the third-lowest round in school history.

Coleman carded two rounds of 67, at the Camden Collegiate and the LMU Spring Kick-off, and a 69 at the Miami Intercollegiate. He notched six top-25 performances, including three top-10 finishes and finished as runner-up at the Spring Kick-off.

Lincoln Memorial's Luke Harries was voted the 2022 South Atlantic Conference Men's Golfer of the Year, while Carson-Newman's Elliot MacGregor was named the Conference's Freshman of the Year and Lincoln Memorial's Travis Muncy was named the Coach of the Year.

Harries, a graduate student from Dyred, Wales, posted a 71.00 stroke average for the year and is currently ranked No. 5 in NCAA Division II. He picked up two tournament wins, had three top-five finishes, two top-10 finishes, and two top-20 finishes this season, all while helping lead the Railsplitters to a No. 3 national ranking and three tournament victories as a team.

MacGregor, a freshman from Shepperton, Middlesex, carded a 73.65 scoring average this season, while leading the Eagles to a No. 2 national ranking. He won the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate with a nine-under-par performance for the week, including a season-low 67 (-5) in the final round. In addition to winning medalist honors once this season, MacGregor also earned one top-20 finish.

Muncy earned his fourth consecutive SAC Coach of the Year honor in 2022 after leading the Railsplitters to a No. 3 national ranking in the Bushnell/Golfweek Division II poll. Muncy's men's team captured nine top-10 finishes in 2021-22, including three tournament titles and one runner-up finish.

Harries also earned first team All-SAC honors for his performance this season and he is joined on the first team by Limestone's Kristoffer Larsson and Levi Moody, Carson-Newman's Jonathan Nielson, and Queens' Ollie Smith.

The 2022 South Atlantic Conference Men's Golf Championship will run Sunday – Tuesday and will be hosted by Tusculum at the at the Graysburg Hills Golf Club in Chuckey, Tenn.
