Men’s Golf Prepares for Spring Bulldog Clash

ANDERSON, S.C. – Following a two-week layoff after posting a fourth-place finish at the LMU Spring Kick-off, the Anderson men's golf team is set to compete at Barton's Spring Bulldog Clash, which will be hosted by the Bulldogs at the at the Caledonia Golf and Fish Club in Pawley's Island, S.C.

The 54-hole tournament (Par 70 – 6,526 Yards)is scheduled for 36 holes on Monday, followed by a final round of 18 on Tuesday.

Joining Anderson and the host Buldogs will be Rogers State, Cameron, Shorter, Mount Olive, Westminster, Catawba, Davenport, Bridgewater, Averett, Chowan, Lenoir-Rhyne, Wingate and UVA Wise.

This week will mark AU's first appearance in the Bulldog's spring tourney – previously known as the Barton Intercollegiate.

Junior Reece Coleman fired a three-round, 3-under-par 213 and finished as runner-up, while sophomore Calahan Keever carded three consecutive 1-over-par 73s to capture fourth place, as they paced the Trojans opened their spring slate with a fourth-place finish at the LMU Kick-off Intercollegiate two weeks ago.

Freshman Simon Wright finished in a three-way tie for 67th, with junior Anthony Sutton claiming a share of 79th place. Junior Parker MacDonald finished in a tie for 83rd, while sophomore Daniel Coker wrapped up the tournament in a tie for 87th place.

Coleman earned South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Golfer of the Week accolades later that week as a result of his stellar play.
