Women's 4x400 Relay Team Wins at SAC Outdoor Championships

ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson University women's track and field team completed the South Atlantic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday (May 6) at the AU Track Complex, finishing in fourth place as a team at 60 points.

The women'x 4x400 relay team consisting of Emma Deadwyler, Lacey Boozer, Brianna Quartararo, and Kamryn Osterbind won the event in a time of 3:52.97 to set a new Anderson school record. Lacey Boozer also finished on the podium in the 400 dash with a time of 57.03 to take third place. Emma Deadwyler was close behind with a mark of 57.12, finishing fourth. Lauren Pernell (1:12.73) completed the 400 hurdles. In the 800 finals, Kamryn Osterbind (2:18.63) and Olivia Rish (2:20.49) finished fifth and sixth, respectively. Aubrey Stoddard (18:36.17) and Hagan Wilson (19:38.79) completed the 5,000m for 11th and 26th place.

In the Heptathlon, Katie Landry (4514) and Lauren Pernell (4290) both finished on the podium for second and third place, respectively. Landry's point total set a new Anderson school record. Olivia Rish just missed reaching the podium for the 1500m finals, coming in fourth place at 4:40.13 while Whitney Hanson (4:49.35) took 10th place. Regan Appleby placed fourth in the shot put (12.92m) while Katie Landry (11.89m) finished sixth.

"Our teams performed at the highest level this weekend," said coach Kevin Eagle. "We walked away with school records, podium finishes, and several lifetime bests. We capped off the season with a great meet and this sets us up well for years to come!"

The Trojans will be back in action next Saturday (May 14) as they travel to Cleveland, TN for the Lee Last Chance Meet. Results can be found at www.autrojans.com.
