Rish, Osterbind, Hanson, and Boozer Record Qualifying Times in Day One

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Anderson University women's track and field team completed day one of the SAC Indoor Track and Field Championships in Winston-Salem, N.C. on Saturday, Feb. 26.

It was a successful day one for the Trojans that included five qualifying times. Lacey Boozer qualified in both the 200 dash (26.36) and the 400 dash (59.87). Brianna Quartararo narrowly missed qualification in the 400 dash, coming in 11th place at 1:00.82.

In the 800m, Kamryn Osterbind and Whitney Hanson both ran well, as they both qualified for finals with times of 2:22.75, and 2:22.77, respectively. Olivia Rish excelled in the mile run with a qualifying time of 5:07.55. Jodi Ann Martin finished just outside of the top-10 at a pace of 5:21.03. Elise Matthews (17:55.33) and Faith Nelson (18:16.55) each finished in the top eight for the Trojans in the 5000m.

The women's DMR team of Aubrey Stoddard, Lauren Childers, Brianna Quartararo, and Whitney Hanson took second place, and beat the previous meet record (12:43.08) with their time of 12:39.96. Lauren Pernell finished third in the indoor pentathlon with a total of 3194 points, while Katie Landry came in fifth place, totaling 3032 points.

Day Two of the SAC Indoor Track and Field Championships will start on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. with the men's heptathlon 60m hurdles. Live results can be found at www.autrojans.com.
