Trojans Complete the Flames Invitational

CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The Anderson University women's track and field team completed the Flames Invitational on Saturday (Apr.9) at Lee University.

Lacey Boozer led the way for the Trojans by taking second place in the 400 dash with a time of 57.86. Emma Deadwyler was just a step behind at 57.94 as she finished in third. Brianna Quartararo finished 12th in the event with a mark of 59.63. In the field, Regan Appleby took second place in the shot put at 12.38m. Katie Landry finished inside the top-10 at 10.89m for seventh place.

The women's 4x400 relay team consisting of Lacey Boozer, Emma Deadwyler, Brianna Quartararo, and Joeli Hayden impressed with a total time of 3:58.43 to take second place. Madison Crumley (12:19.44) took 17th place in the 3000 steeplechase, while Autumn Bladen ran the 800 in 2:25.79. Emily Golden ran the 10000 at a pace of 38:34.98.

As a team, the Trojans totaled 43 points to finish fifth in a field of 29 teams.

"Despite the unpredictable weather, we had a lot of great performances this weekend," said coach Kevin Eagle. "Both teams are rounding into great form as we get closer towards the championship portion of our season. We are looking forward to a lot of great competition next weekend as we host the 2022 Electric City Invitational."
