Eight Women's Track and Field Athletes Named to USTFCCCA All-Region

ANDERSON, S.C. – Seven members of the Anderson University women's track and field team were named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region Indoor Track & Field team. In order to qualify, an individual must be in the top-five

Olivia Rish (DMR, Mile), Brianna Quartararo (DMR), Lauren Pernell (Pentathlon) Kamryn Osterbind (DMR, 800m), Katie Landry (Penathlon), Whitney Hanson (DMR, 800m), Lacey Boozer (400m), and Regan Appleby (Shot Put) were all named to the All-Region team for Anderson.

The Trojans had some impressive times at the recent SAC Indoor Championships, headlined by Lacey Boozer winning the 400m in a time of 58.51, which set a new school record. Whitney Hanson (2:17.72) and Kamryn Osterbind (2:18.29) finished second and third, respectively, in the 800m.

Regan Appleby took second place in the shot put with a distance of 12.77m for a new personal best. Lauren Pernell also took second in the pentathlon (3194 points) while Katie Landry finished inside the top-five at 3032 points. Olivia Rish broke the previous meet record (5:06.43) with a time of 5:01.98 to finish fourth in the mile run. At the South Carolina Invitational on Jan. 28, the DMR team of Osterbind, Rish, Hanson, and Quartararo set a new school record with a time of 11:57.22.
"It is always an honor to have athletes make this list," said coach Kevin Eagle. "We know these athletes had a fantastic season with how good this region has become."

Anderson will host their first track and field outdoor meet on Friday and Saturday (Mar. 18 – 19). The action is slated to begin at 2:00 p.m. on Mar. 18, and 10:00 a.m. on Saturday Mar. 19. More information can be found at www.autrojans.com.
