Hanson Wins 3000m SC at Georgia Tech Invitational

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Anderson University women's track and field team completed a very successful day one on Friday (Apr. 22) at the Georgia Tech Invitational.

Whitney Hanson led the way for the Trojans by winning the 3000m steeplechase in a time of 11:04.77. Elise Matthews finished 27th in the 5000m at a pace of 18:17.39. Faith Nelson (18:28.88) and Emily Golden (18:38.35) finished 31st and 35th, respectively. Olivia Rish took 30th in the 1500m with a time of 4:38.84. Jodi Ann Martin (5:01.78) and Rebecca Ward (5:02.14) nearly finished side by side. Lauren Pernell came in 30th in the 100 hurdles in a time of 15.43. In the shot put, Regan Appleby finished 21st with a distance of 12.46m. 

The Trojans will be back in action on Saturday (Apr. 23) for Day Two of the Georgia Tech Invitational. The women's 4x400 relay team will be running at 4:15 p.m.
