Pernell and Landry Finish Third and Fourth in Heptathlon at Flames Invitational

CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The Anderson University women's track and field team completed Friday's (Apr. 8) action at Lee University in the Flames Invitational with some impressive times.

In the 200m dash, Emma Deadwyler recorded a top-10 finish with a mark of 25.41, while Joeli Hayden set a personal best of 26.86 for the event. Aubrey Stoddard took 17th in the 1500m (4:46.24) to set a new personal record, as did Rebecca Ward at 5:03.58. Senior Olivia Rish also set a PR by finishing 26th in the 5000m at a pace of 17:53.53.

Lauren Pernell (3973 points) and Katie Landry (3887) finished third and fourth in the heptathlon, respectively. In the heptathlon, Pernell won the high jump (1.52m) while Landry won the shot put (11.89m).
