Women's Track and Field Sets Three New School Records

ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson University women's track and field team completed two meets on the opening day of track and field season, with the team splitting up for the Clemson Opener and the GVSU Holiday Open.

At the Grand Valley State Holiday Open, Olivia Rish set a new school record in the 3000m with a time of 9:59.88. Whitney Hanson was close behind as she completed the 3k in a time of 10:07.42. Faith Nelson finished inside the top-15 in the 5k meter run with a mark of 18:34.88.

Meanwhile at the Clemson Opener, two more school records were broken for Anderson. Kamryn Osterbind won the 800m and set a school record with a time of 2:17.51. The second, third, and fourth place finishers were also Trojans: Brianna Quartararo (2:20.34), Lauren Childers (2:24.60), and Autumn Bladen (2:31.13).

The women's 4x400 relay team consisting of Joeli Hayden, Brianna Quartararo, Kamryn Osterbind, and Lacey Boozer set a new school record for the Trojans with a total time of 4:02.65. Anderson also ran well in the 3000m, having six runners finish in the top-11. Aubrey Stoddard took third place (10:31.04), Emily Golden finished seventh (11:00.31), Rebecca Ward came in eighth (11:13.08), while Hagan Wilson finished ninth with a time of 11:21.07. Jodi Ann Martin took tenth place (11:27.56), and Madison Crumley rounded things out for the Trojans by taking 11th (11:53.73).

In the field, Regan Appleby took home a third-place finish in the shot put with a distance of 12.13m, while Katie Landry finished inside the top-10 at 10.74m. Lauren Pernell completed the long jump in 4.78m.

"The women really showed out today with several personal bests and three school records," said coach Kevin Eagle. "Today sets us up extremely well for when we return in January to achieve some big goals. This women's team has a ton of talent, so it will be fun to see exactly what they can do on the conference and national stage."
