Trojans Record Five Podium Finishes; Boozer Wins 400

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Anderson University women's track and field completed the final day of the 2022 SAC Indoor Track and Field Championships on Sunday (Feb. 27), finishing in fourth place.

It was a successful day two for the Trojans that included four podium finishes. Lacey Boozer headlined the day for Anderson by winning the 400 dash in a time of 58.51, setting a new school record. Whitney Hanson finished second in the 800m (2:17.72) while Kamryn Osterbind placed fourth at a pace of 2:18.29.

In the indoor pentathlon, Lauren Pernell took third with a total of 3194 points while Katie Landry placed fifth at a total of 3032. Regan Appleby took the podium for second place in the shot put with a distance of 12.7mm for a new personal best. The 4x400 relay team of Lacey Boozer, Brianna Quartararo, Lauren Childers, and Kamryn Osterbind took fourth (4:04.25). Olivia Rish finished the mile run in 5:01.98, taking fourth place and breaking the previous meet record of 5:06.43. Elise Matthews paced at 17:55.33 in the 5000m to take sixth place, while Faith Nelson finished eighth at 18:16.55.  

This concludes the indoor season for the Trojans. The NCAA National Championships are being held in Pittsburg, Kansas (Mar. 11 – 12). The Trojan Opener, the first meet of the outdoor season, will be held at home March 18 and 19th. More information can be found at www.autrojans.com.
