Quartararo, Hanson, and Osterbind Set School Records at GVSU Big Meet

ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Anderson University women's track and field team had a very successful day one of the Grand Valley State University Big Meet, including new personal best times and two new school records.

Brianna Quartararo broke the Anderson school record in the 600m with a time of 1:36.61, while Whitney Hanson (2:14.39) and Kamryn Osterbind (2:14.84) both set the 800m indoor record. Hanson's 800m time provisionally qualifies herself for the NCAA championship. In the mile run, Olivia Rish set a personal best with a time of 4:58.82.

"We came up here to chase certain times and that is exactly what we did," said coach Kevin Eagle. "We finished up the day with four personal bests, two school records, and one provisional national qualifier. It was a historical day for our program, but we know tomorrow's races are just as important."

The Trojans will be back in action on Saturday (Feb. 12) for day two of the meet. The women will be competing in the DMR, with results available at www.autrojans.com.
