Women's Track and Field Sets Three Personal Bests at Electric City Invitational

ANDERSON, S.C. - The Anderson University women's track and field team finished in eighth place as a team with 46 points in the 2022 Electric City Invitational on Saturday (Apr. 16), hosted at the AU Track and Field complex.

Kamryn Osterbind led the way for the Trojans by winning the 800m (2:15.79) while Aubrey Stoddard (2:19.02) finished inside the top-five for a new personal best. Whitney Hanson (4:45.94) and Olivia Rish (4:49.74) finished sixth and seventh, respectively, in the 1500m. Rebbeca Ward took 13th place at a pace of 4:58.36, and Faith Nelson (5:02.93) came in at 19th.

Madison Crumley (19:20.19) and Lauren Pernell (1:07.88) each recorded a top-10 finish in the 5000m and 400 hurdles, respectively. Lacey Boozer completed the 100 dash with a mark of 12.73, and Brianna Quartararo set a new personal best with a time of 13.06. Pernell took eighth place in the 100 hurdles (15.81) and Katie Landry (16.56) finished 11th. Autumn Bladen finished with a new personal record of 1:01.05 in the 400 dash to come in 11th while Joeli Hayden was close behind at 1:02.30 for 14th place.

The 4x400m relay team consisting of Brianna Quartararo, Autumn Bladen, Joeli Hayden, and Lacey Boozer finished second place in a time of 3:58.99. In the field, Regan Appleby finished second in the shot put (12.60m). Katie Landry was seventh in the javelin throw with a distance of 29.99m, and Madison Crumley took ninth in the pole vault (2.50m).

"I cannot be prouder of our team with not only how they performed today, but also how they made the meet run as smoothly as possible," said coach Kevin Eagle. "We had several personal bests and one school record on the day. With hosting one of the largest meets in the southeast, our coaches, staff and athletes were able to pull off a fantastic competition for all involved."
