TAZEWELL, Tenn. – Led by freshman Calahan Keever's three-round, 6-over-par 222, the Anderson University men's golf team finished in 10th place, Tuesday at the 2021 South Atlantic Conference Championship.
Lincoln Memorial hosted the two-day, 54-hole tournament on a par-72, 6,746 yard layout at the Woodlake Country Club in Tazewell, Tenn.
Nationally second-ranked Lincoln Memorial led wire-to-wire en route to capturing its fourth SAC Championship title and second championship since 2016. No. 17 Limestone moved up one spot on Tuesday and captured runner-up status in its first season in the conference, while 46th-ranked Queens slipped to third. No. 21 Carson-Newman was one stroke further back in fourth place, with No. 31 Newberry remaining in fifth place. No. 22 Wingate claimed sixth place, while Catawba jumped up two spots and finished in seventh place. Coker remained in eighth place, with Lenoir-Rhyne taking the ninth spot.
The Trojans were three shots further back in 10th place, while Tusculum, UVA Wise and Mars Hill rounded out the 13-team field.
Lincoln Memorial's Dan Bradbury (64-67-65=196) also led wire-to-wire and claimed individual medalist honors by 10 shots over teammate Luke Harries (67-70-69=206). Carson-Newman's Jake Mynatt and Limestone's Gage Carnes finished in a tie for third – 17 shots off the pace.
Keever, who birdied three of his first four holes on Tuesday, equaled the eighth-best score of the day with a final-round 1-under 71 and moved up 11 spots to claim a share of 27th place. Senior Jake Miller carded a three-round 8-over 224 and shared 31st place. Sophomore Reece Coleman remained tied for 35th place, with freshman Daniel Coker moving up three spots and finished in a tie for 48th place. Sophomore Anthony Sutton wrapped up the Trojan contingent in 56th place.
