Men’s Golf Readies for Full Moon BBQ Invitational

ANDERSON, S.C. – On the heels of winning the Matt Dyas Invitational two weeks ago, the Anderson University men's golf team is set to compete in the Full Moon Invitational, which will be hosted by Montevallo, Sunday and Monday in Calera, Ala.

The Falcons will host the Trojans, Trevecca Nazarene, West Georgia, Young Harris, Shorter, Christian Brothers and Union for the two-day tournament on a 6,745 yard, par-71 Timberline Golf Club layout.

AU will be seeking its second consecutive win while playing in its second straight event for the first time in school history.

On the strength of a three-round, 4-under–par 212 from sophomore Anthony Sutton, who claimed his first collegiate win two weeks ago, the Trojans posted a convincing 13-stroke victory at West Georgia.

Sutton carded a final-round 1-over-par 73 to Newberry's Tom Bueschges by three strokes at West Georgia, while freshman Calahan Keever finished in third place. Sophomore Reece Coleman finished in a three-way tie for seventh place, while freshman Daniel Coker shared 12th place. Senior Jake Miller captured a share of 17th place and senior Drake McAlister rounded out the Trojan contingent by finishing 35th.

The Trojans are tentatively slated to tee off at 9:09 a.m. on Sunday.
