Men’s Golf Moves up Two Spots – Finishes Tied for Third at LMU’s Spring Kick-off Intercollegiate

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Paced by sophomore Reece Coleman's three-round, 7-under-par 209, the Anderson University men's golf team finished in a tie for third place at Lincoln Memorial's Spring Kick-off intercollegiate on Tuesday.

The Railsplitters hosted the 54-hole, two-day event at the 7,136 yard, par 72 St. Johns Golf Club layout.

Lincoln Memorial led the event wire-to-wire and finished 13 strokes in front of second-place West Florida. The Trojans moved up from fifth place into a tie for third, alongside Limestone. Lander slipped from a tie for third into fifth, with North Greenville and Wingate finishing sixth and seventh, respectively. Young Harris and Barton finished in a deadlock for the eighth spot, while Georgia Southwestern claimed the 10th slot.

Flagler, Belmont Abbey and Newberry finished 11th, 12th and 13th, respectively, with Queens finishing in 14th place. Georgia College, Tusculum, King, Christian Brothers and Emmanuel finished out the 19-team field.

North Greenville's Austin Duncan (66-70-67=203) overcame a four-shot deficit following Monday's opening round to claim individual honors by four shots over Limestone's Gage Carnes (63-74-70=207), with LMU's Dan Bradbury and West Florida's Elias Haavisto finished tied for third with identical 8-under-par 208s.

Coleman, who fired a school-record 64 during the opening round, finished in a tie for fifth, with freshman Calahan Keever moving up six spots to finish in a three-way tie for 12th. Senior Jake Miller vaulted from a tie for 50th following the first round into a tie for 29th. Freshman Daniel Coker claimed a tie for 49th and sophomore Parker MacDonald rounded out the Trojan contingent in a tie for 96th place.

The Trojans will get back on the links, Monday at the Saint Leo Invitational in Dade City, Fla.
