Softball Team Loses CVAC Tournament Opener

FLORENCE, S.C. -- Queens (N.C.) jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first three innings and went on to post a 6-2 victory over Anderson College in the 2004 CVAC Tournament Friday afternoon at Freedom Florence. Anderson, 23-35 overall, scored its two runs in the fourth on a single by Melissa Waters, an RBI single by Kari Huggins, and a throwing error. The loss was Anderson's sixth straight. AC swept Queens during the regular season. Anderson will play the winner of the Mt. Olive-Erskine game Saturday at 2 p.m. in an elimination game.
