Men's Track and Field Completes Camel City Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Anderson University men's track and field team completed the Camel City Invite on Saturday (Feb. 4) in Winston-Salem, N.C. at the JDL Fast Track.

On day one (Feb. 3), Will O'Cain led the pole vaulters with a mark of 4.25m, with Lambdin Hardy (3.95m), and Lucas Pryor (3.80m) close behind. Grayson Smith had a distance of 9.81m in the weight throw. Simeon Respress impressed in the long jump (6.37m) for 14th place meanwhile Tyler Farris (5.42m) came in 33rd.

Ben Molitor took home seventh place in the 400m (seeded) with a time of 51.12, while also running the 200m (seeded) in a time of 23.51 for 11th place. Zach Cannon ran the 400m (56.23) and the 200m (24.73). In the 60m hurdles prelims, Dallas Cantrell led the way with a time of 9.12 to finish 12th. Hunter Norman (9.61) and Tyler Farris (10.10) finished 17th and 20th, respectively. Tiago Perez took seventh in the 60m (qualifying) at 7.22.

On day two (Feb. 4), Ian Macurda (1:29.03) and Hunter Norman (1:36.15) finished in 14th and 18th place in the 600m. Adam Trusty (4:25.14) and David Williams (4:31.39) ran the mile run. In the 3000m, Jonathan Roberts (8:48.34), Ty Nelson (9:01.24), and Michael Burgess (9:17.84) ran for the Trojans.

The Trojans will be back in action on Friday (Feb. 10) as some athletes will travel to Boston, MA for the David Henry Valentine Invitational and to Allendale, MI for the GVSU Big Meet. More information can be found at autrojans.com as the meet approaches.
