Men's Track and Field Picked Eighth in SAC Outdoor Preseason Poll

ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Anderson University men's track and field team has been selected eighth in the preseason South Atlantic Conference men's track and field poll, announced by the league office today (Mar. 17).

Wingate has been picked to win the 2023 South Atlantic Conference Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championship with 11 first place votes, with Lenoir-Rhyne placing second in the poll with 111 points and the remaining first-place vote. Carson-Newman took the No. 3 spot with 98 points, while Catawba came in fourth with 88 points. Limestone rounded out the top five with 86 points.

Tusculum landed at the No. 6 spot with 66 points and at No. 7 was Newberry with 58 points. Anderson earned 55 points to come in at No. 8, while Lincoln Memorial finished at No. 9 with 42 points. Emory & Henry took the No. 10 spot with 28 points, and Coker took the No. 11 spot with 22 points. Mars Hill rounded out the poll with 17 points at No. 12.

Spain Vaughan and Lambdin Hardy were named athletes to watch for the Trojans. Anderson opens up the outdoor season on Friday and Saturday (Mar. 17 -18) at home in the Trojan Opener. Results can be found at autrojans.com.
