Men's Lacrosse Drops Road Contest at Catawba 17-13

SALISBURY, N.C. – The Anderson University men's lacrosse team dropped a South Atlantic Conference road contest on Saturday (Mar. 26) at Catawba by a score of 17-13.

Anderson jumped out to an early 7-4 lead after the first fifteen minutes of play, courtesy of three goals from senior Beau Henson. Henson followed that up with two more goals in the second period, fueling a 10-6 halftime lead.

The second half turned in favor of the Indians, as they outscored the Trojans five to one in the third period, and 11 to three in the second half altogether to come from behind for the 17-13 victory over 19th nationally ranked Anderson.

Beau Henson led Anderson with seven goals on the afternoon. Defensively, Peyton Jefferson caused two turnovers and goalie Joey Heckel totaled 12 saves.

The Trojans will be back in action on Wednesday (Mar. 30) as they play host to the Tusculum University Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. at Spero Financial Field.
