Trojans Defeat Mars Hill 20-8 for Sixth Straight Win

MARS HILL, N.C. – The Anderson University men's lacrosse team picked up their sixth consecutive win with a 20-8 victory over Mars Hill, improving to 6-2 on the season and 2-0 in South Atlantic Conference play.

Triston Schaffer led the Trojans with seven goals on the afternoon, while Logan Gaddis led the way with seven assists. Gaddis leads the SAC with 32 on the season, while Schaffer is fourth with 29 goals. Beau Henson scored three for Anderson today, and his season total of 34 leads the SAC.

All-American faceoff specialist Cam Weeks 24 of his 29 attempts while picking up 18 ground balls. His career total is now at 292, putting him just eight away from the 300 milestone.

Nick Calabrese and Beau Henson each scored three times while Ryley Zopfi, Cam Weeks, and Logan Gaddis scored two goals apiece. Defensively, Tagrt Houghton, Rex Hardy, Chase Robertson, and Ryan Eastby picked up three ground balls each. Goalie Joey Heckel totaled 15 saves and six ground balls, leading Anderson to the 20-8 win over Mars Hill.

"Great road win for our team," said coach Albert Mitchell. "Our focus now turns to Wednesday, when we will be playing on the road against a great Lenoir-Rhyne squad."

The Trojans will be back in action on Wednesday (Mar. 16) as they travel to Hickory, N.C. to take on Lenoir-Rhyne. Opening faceoff is set for 7:00 p.m., with video and live stats available at www.autrojans.com.
