Men's Lacrosse Picks Up First Win of 2022 at Young Harris

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The Anderson University men's lacrosse team picked up their first win of the 2022 season with a 21-8 victory on the road at Young Harris on Wednesday (Feb. 16).

The Trojans came out firing on all cylinders, scoring a pair of goals in the opening minute, courtesy of Logan Gaddis and Garrett Hawkins. From that point on the remainder of the first half, it was a back and forth battle as Anderson led Young Harris nine to five at half.

Anderson's attack came to play in the second half, scoring nine goals in the third period, with three of them coming from Beau Henson. The third period success fueled the Trojans to a 21-8 victory.

Beau Henson led Anderson with five goals on the night, his third straight game with five goals scored. Garrett Hawkins scored four times, while Triston Schaffer, Jack Goldstein, and Logan Gaddis each finished with three.

All-American faceoff specialist Cam Weeks won 24 of his 27 faceoffs, picking up 22 ground balls. Peyton Jefferson led the team with caused three turnovers, while Logan Gaddis had two.

"It is exciting to get the first win of the season," said coach Albert Mitchell. "We are hoping to build off this momentum as we prepare for Saturday."

The Trojans will be back in action on Saturday (Feb. 19) as they play host to Barton. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., with video and live stats available at www.autrojans.com.
