ANDERSON, S.C. - A total of 130 student-athletes were named to the two spring athletic honor rolls at Anderson College, AC athletic director Bobby Beville announced Monday afternoon. Fifty AC student-athletes made the Athletic Director's Honor Roll (4.00-3.50 GPA), and 80 were named to the Coaches' Honor Roll (3.49-3.00 GPA). Anderson College had a total of 293 student-athletes in its athletic program during the 2004-05 athletic year. "We are happy and extremely proud that almost 50 percent of our student-athletes made the honor roll," Beville said. "Our coaches understand academics come first at AC." The baseball team led the honor rolls with a total of 15. The women's soccer team was second with 14, while volleyball and softball both had 11 each. Anderson's two NCAA tournament teams - women's basketball and men's tennis - both had high percentages on the honor rolls. The women's basketball team had eight on the two honor rolls, while the men's tennis team had six. Among AC's three clubs - equestrian, performance team, and cheerleading, the cheerleaders had the most representatives on the honor rolls with 11.
