Quillen Wins 5,000m to Headline Friday's Results

ANDERSON, S.C. - The Anderson University women's track and field team posted several great times on Friday (Apr. 7) in three meets: Flames Invitational (Cleveland, TN), Duke Invitational (Durham, N.C.), and the Newberry Hub City Invitational (Spartanburg, S.C.). 15 athletes went to the Newberry meet, as they had success placing second as a team with 74 points, headlined by an event win from Aubrey Quillen in the 5,000m, with Emma Whitaker, Lucy Schmitt, and Rebecca Ward placing second, third, and fourth respectively. At the Flames Invitational, Emily Golden led the team with a heat win in the 10,000m.

"We had a great meet today in some rough weather," said assistant coach Andrew Mudd. "To have multiple personal bests in conditions like this is big going into the later part of the season."
