Women's 4x400m Relay Team Sets School Record at SAC Indoor Championships

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Anderson University women's track and field team completed the South Atlantic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday (Feb. 25) at the JDL Fastrack, finishing in fifth place with a total of 40 points.

"Our men and women put together a spectacular weekend at the SAC Championships," said coach Kevin Eagle. "Everyone stepped it up big time and peaked at the right moment. We have too many great performances to name, but I cannot be prouder on how team competed. We will take the next two weeks to regroup as we get ready for a busy outdoor season."

The women's 4x400m relay team consisting of Lacey Boozer, Joeli Hayden, Autumn Bladen, and Brianna Quartararo set a school record with a time of 4:01.91 to finish fourth place. Boozer took fifth place (58.40) in the 400m with Quartararo close behind at 59.60 to finish seventh. Whitney Hanson (2:20.37), Aubrey Quillen (2:21.95), and Emma Whitaker (2:23.48) ran well in the 800m to finish fourth, fifth, and sixth, respectively.

Emily Golden (10:23.99) and Elise Matthews (10:29.55) each finished inside the top-10 in the 3000m. Mclayne Wyatt (10:56.55), Rebecca Ward (11:00.71), Madison Crumley (11:23.81), and Hannah Reedy (11:44.24) also ran for the Trojans. Georgia Piper (1.51m high jump) and Sarah Wimpee (11.31m shot put) each finished in eighth place.

This concludes the indoor season for the Trojans, with the outdoor season slated to begin at home March 17th -18th for the Trojan Opener.
