Women's Track and Field Picked Fourth in SAC Preseason Poll

ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Anderson University women's track and field team has been selected fourth in the preseason South Atlantic Conference women's track and field poll, announced by the league office today (Mar. 17).

Lenoir-Rhyne and Wingate have been picked as the top teams in the 2023 SAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Preseason Poll. Both the Bears and the Bulldogs picked up six first place votes and received 116 points each from the league's head coaches.

Catawba placed third in the poll with 95 points and Anderson took the No. 4 spot with 86 points. Carson-Newman came in fifth with 84 points, followed by Limestone at No. 6 with 71 points.

Newberry took the No. 7 spot with 62 points and at No. 8 was Lincoln Memorial with 50 points. Tusculum earned 38 points to come in at No. 9, while Coker finished at 36 points in tenth. Mars Hill had 23 points in the No. 11 spot and Emory & Henry rounded out the poll with 15 points at No. 12.

Lacey Boozer, Olivia Rish, and Sarah Wimpee were named athletes to watch for the Trojans. Anderson opens the outdoor season on Friday and Saturday (Mar. 17 -18) at home in the Trojan Opener. Results can be found at autrojans.com.
