Women's Track and Field Completes Camel City Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Anderson University women's track and field team completed the Camel City Invite on Saturday (Feb. 4) in Winston-Salem, N.C. at the JDL Fast Track.

On day one (Feb. 3), Brianna Quartararo impressed in the 600m by finishing in third place with a time of 1:39.62. Lacey Boozer finished ninth in the 400m (seeded) with a mark of 59.48. Boozer also had a top-10 finish in the 200m (26.35) meanwhile Joeli Hayden took 40th at a pace of 28.09. Hayden ran well in the 60m (qualifying) by taking 11th at a speed of 8.29.

Sarah Rudolph (18:49.83) and Lucy Schmidt (19:10.70) finished eighth and 12th in the 5000m, respectively. The women's distance medley relay (DMR) team consisting of Whitney Hanson, Alysse Rowland, Emma Whitaker, and Aubrey Quillen took sixth place with a combined time of 12:39.48. In the field, Georgia Piper took ninth in the high jump (1.55m) while Sarah Wimpee finished with 11.41m in the weight throw for 29th.

On day two (Feb. 4) Aubrey Quillen paced the Trojans in the 800m at 2:22.94 to finish 13th. Emma Whitaker ran a 2:25.02 for 16th place, while Alysse Rowland (2:26.43) and Whitney Hanson (2:26.45) took 20th and 21st, respectively. Elise Matthews led the way in the 3000m with a mark of 10:16.38 (19th place). Emily Golden ran well (10:32.71) for 25th place. Faith Nelson (10:49.06), Mclayne Wyatt (10:57.90), and Hannah Reedy (11:49.42) also ran in the event or the Trojans. In the mile run, Hagan Wilson ran a 5:36.89 with Madison Crumley close behind at 5:51.89.

The Trojans will be back in action on Friday (Feb. 10) as some athletes will travel to Boston, MA for the David Henry Valentine Invitational and to Allendale, MI for the GVSU Big Meet. More information can be found at autrojans.com as the meet approaches.
