Women's Track and Field Finishes Fourth at SAC Outdoor Championship

HICKORY, N.C. – The Anderson University women's track and field team finished in fourth place at the South Atlantic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships this weekend.

Katie Landry headlined the weekend for the Trojans by winning the heptathlon with a total of 4120 points, meanwhile Lauren Pernell finished second at 3919. Pernell also finished third in the 400m hurdles with a mark of 1:05.71. Emma Deadwyler had a podium finish in the 400m (56.64) to set a new school record, while also taking fourth place in the 200m (24.94). Madison Crumley took eighth place in the 3000m steeplechase (12:15.49), while Aubrey Stoddard placed ninth (12:28.24).

Kamryn Osterbind and Brianna Quartararo each had podium finishes in the 800m, finishing in second (2:15.99) and third (2:16.77) respectively. Olivia Rish ran well in the 15K at (4:43.21), finishing in fifth. The 4x400m relay team consisting of Deadwyler, Quartararo, Osterbind, and Lauren Childers took third place at 3:58.17. Elise Matthews (37:51.04), Hannah Beach (38:00.03), and Faith Nelson (38:44.25) all placed within the top-10 in the 10k. As a team, the Trojans finished in fourth place with 70 points.
