Women's Track and Field Ranked Fourth in USTFCCCA Southeast Regional Poll

ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson University women's track and field team has been ranked fourth in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Southeast Regional Rankings. This ranking is the highest in program history for Anderson.

The Trojans are coming off a fourth-place finish in the SAC Outdoor Championships this past weekend with 70 points. Katie Landry led the way for the Trojans by winning the heptathlon (4120 points), while Lauren Pernell finished second with 3919. On Tuesday (Apr. 27) at the Anderson Athletics Honors Night, Emma Deadwyler was named the AU Female Athlete of the Year after setting three individual school records during her freshman season.

Landry was named the 2021 Women's SAC Outdoor Track and Field Elite 20 Award Winner. This award honors the student-athlete with the top cumulative grade-point average (based on a minimum of 48 credit hours) in each of the league's 20 team championships.
