WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Anderson University men's and women's track and field teams competed in their first and only indoor meet of the year on Saturday (Feb. 20) at the Camel City Invitational.

Brianna Quartararo and Kamryn Osterbind led the way for the Trojans as they each set a new school record. Quartararo broke the indoor 600m with a time of 1:39.03 and Osterbind set the indoor 800m record with a mark of 2:19.53. Elise Matthews completed the 3000m run in 10:43.01.

For the men, Phillip Quillen placed 11th in the 3000m run by running an 8:41.08. Patrick Berlejung (8:45.38) and Daniel Similton (8:57.88) each competed in the 3000m run as well. Matthew Burgess (4:30.16) and Thomas Sutcliffe (4:34.05) each competed in the mile run for the Trojans.

"I am very pleased with all of the athletes who competed today," said coach Kevin Eagle. "We walked away with two school records, more personal bests, and a lot of experience gained. We can now solely focus on the upcoming outdoor season and get ready for what the next few months have in store with more training and races."

The Trojans will be back in action on Feb. 26 and Feb. 27 as they travel to Hickory, N.C. for the Lenoir-Rhyne Opener. Live results can be found at www.autrojans.com.
