Deadwyler, Rish, and Quartararo Win Events at Susan Rouse Invitational

CENTRAL, S.C. – The Anderson University women's track and field team ran very well at the Susan Rouse Invitational on Saturday (Mar. 6) as the team won three different events, including several top-ten finishes and personal bests.

Brianna Quartararo won the 800m by running a 2:21.07, as Kamryn Osterbind finished second (2:24.57). Rebecca Ward came in third place (2:25.32) and Aubrey Stoddard in sixth place (2:26.48). Elise Matthews came in second place in the 3000m (10:35.79), Hannah Beach in fourth (10:51.90), and Faith Nelson finishing in eighth place (11:29.15). In the long jump, Katie Landry and Lauren Pernell each finished fifth place with a distance of 4.88m.

"It was a great day for both teams today," said coach Kevin Eagle. "We had four event wins and a total of 12 all time personal bests for our athletes in various events. We wanted to come in and compete with the best of the 20+ teams in action today and we definitely did that. We now have a two week layoff from competition, so we will take what we learned from today and implement it into our training moving forward now that we know our fitness level has increased."

The Trojans will be back in action on Saturday (Mar. 20) as they travel to Cleveland, TN for the Lee Invitational. Live results can be found at www.autrojans.com.
